WITH HEAT ON THE WAY, COLD BEVERAGE SALES ARE SET TO INCREASE … IS YOUR BUSINESS READY?
It has been predicted that 2025 is likely to be one of the three warmest years for global average temperatures… meaning we could be in for a heatwave this year.
Throughout the heatwave of 2022, beer, cider and soft drinks companies experienced double digit growth.
As the warmer weather arrives, we find ourselves reaching for a drink from the fridge rather than putting the kettle on. People will flock to beer gardens and pub terraces. They will rush home from work via whichever local farmshop or brewery stocks their favourite beverage, to light their barbeque and invite friends round for a few drinks.
Shops, supermarkets, farmshops and restaurants will increase their stock of beer and cider to meet demand.
Suppliers… will need to be ready.
The landscape is constantly evolving for beer and cider, with craft beer bucking the trend and improving growth in 2024 and cider being a continually diverse and dynamic category, showing consistent growth.
Once seen as a niche product, cider has gradually gained groups of ‘followers’ in various regions, with regionally authentic ciders being most popular. There has also been a rise in the popularity of craft fruit ciders such as berry or pear which are made using the same fermentation process that is used to make apple cider.
Does your business also sell ice cream? Maybe you could use the idea of unusual ‘summer treat recipes’ to encourage the sale of both ice cream, beer and cider? Why not offer recipe ideas such as Apple Cider or Beer Floats?
Have a look at our beer, cider and ale bottles and the bag in box range… we might just have what you need to hit the ground running for your summer sales!
